Cartsnooze: an app that helps you stop impulse buying

Cartsnooze is the wise little app that tells you to hold on. When you want to buy something, you snooze it for a few days instead. When the timer ends you decide: still want it, or let it go. It is free on iPhone, and Android is on the way.

The problem

Most money apps show you the damage after you've spent. The urge to buy is loudest at the checkout, and that's exactly when no budgeting tool is there. Waiting a day or a week before buying is one of the simplest ways to cut impulse spending. The hard part is the willpower.

What we built

• Snooze it, let it cool, decide. Park the thing you want in Cartsnooze instead of your basket. It takes about five seconds. A cooldown runs (7 days by default), and when it ends you buy it guilt-free or let it go.
• Every price in hours of work. Type a price and your hourly take-home pay, and a €899 phone becomes about 34 hours of your work. The same money is also shown as what it could grow into if invested, with a clear note that this is an estimate, not a promise.
• Every skip counted. Each let-go adds to a running tally of money kept, and you can share a skip card when you beat an impulse.
• A home-screen widget, so your cooldowns are one glance away when the next urge arrives.
• Couples mode (Pro). Set a shared limit; anything above it pings your partner to approve, cool off or skip. Share one cooldown list, scan and split receipts, and settle up in one tap. Decisions that mattered

No bank login, no ads, no data selling. You add what you want to snooze, so your bank details stay out of it entirely.

No lecturing. If you still want something after the cooldown, Cartsnooze tells you to buy it without guilt. The goal is a pause, not a punishment.

Honest limits. Cartsnooze helps with the everyday urge. It is not a treatment, and the app says so.

Multilingual from launch. The site ships in English, Dutch and German.
